Arrival

You shall be picked from your hotel.

The journey kicks off at 2:30 AM in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital.

As the day begins, you’ll travel northward, passing the Volcanoes National Park en route to Uganda via the Cyanika border. Upon reaching Ntebeko, your starting point in Mgahinga, you’ll receive a briefing about gorilla tracking in this part of the Virunga Region.

Mgahinga is home to the Nyakagezi Group, a charming gorilla family with four silverback gorillas. Unlike Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the gorilla trek here is shorter in duration, allowing you to experience the magic of encountering these incredible creatures in a condensed timeframe.

The highlight of the day is meeting the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. It is an emotional and unforgettable experience that will stay with you forever. After meeting them, you’ll take photos. Then, you’ll return, have lunch and proceed to your hotel to end your one-day gorilla tour.
