Lake Mburo safari offers a perfect short getaway into Uganda’s smallest savannah national park, known for its rich biodiversity and scenic landscapes. The journey from Kampala takes you through beautiful countryside, with a stop at the Equator for photos. Upon arrival, an evening game drive provides excellent opportunities to spot zebras, giraffes, buffalo, and impalas in their natural habitat. The next morning, you’ll have a guided walking safari experience before heading back to Kampala.

You will be picked up very early in the morning by your tour guide who will take you to Lake Mburo National Park and the park staff will guide you on how to undertake this tour.

You’ll start your journey with an early morning departure from Kampala, heading west towards Lake Mburo National Park. The drive takes approximately 4-5 hours, with a brief stop at the Equator for photos and an opportunity to learn about this unique landmark. You’ll continue through the rolling countryside and traditional homesteads before arriving at the park in the afternoon. You’ll check in at Rwakobo Rock Lodge which is a mid-range lodge in Lake Mburo National Park and enjoy a delicious lunch while taking in the serene surroundings. In the late afternoon, you’ll embark on an exciting game drive through the park, where you will have the chance to spot zebras, elands, buffaloes, impalas, giraffes, and hippos. The park’s picturesque acacia woodlands and open savannah provide stunning backdrops for wildlife photography. As the sun sets, you will return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.
