Entebbe to Kibale Forest National Park

Your driver-guide will pick you up for a scenic road transfer to Kibale National Park in western Uganda. This full-day journey offers stunning views of Uganda’s diverse landscape, including lush tea plantations, crater lakes, rolling hills, and rural villages. You’ll enjoy a relaxing stopover in Fort Portal for a lunch break before continuing to Kibale. Arrive at Rweteera Safari Park Camp, a budget lodge outside Kibale Forest National Park, in the late afternoon or early evening and settle in for dinner and overnight stay, as you prepare for the next day’s chimpanzee tracking adventure.

Day 2

Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale & Community Tour

After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing before setting off into the lush Kibale Forest for your chimpanzee trekking experience. Accompanied by expert guides, you’ll explore the forest in search of wild chimpanzees and enjoy sightings of other primates, birds such as the African grey parrot, great blue turaco, and black-and-white casqued hornbill, and a rich variety of flora. Watching chimpanzees interact in their natural habitat is a highlight of any Ugandan safari. In the afternoon, take part in a guided community tour to engage with local cultures, visit nearby villages, and learn about traditional ways of life. Return to Rweteera Safari Park Camp, a budget lodge outside Kibale Forest National Park, for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, depart from Kibale Forest and enjoy a scenic drive through the beautiful Ugandan countryside to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of the country’s most diverse and wildlife-rich reserves. Arrive in time for lunch at Tembo Safari Lodge, a budget lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park, with stunning views of the park’s expansive savannahs and crater lakes.

In the afternoon, embark on a relaxing boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. This cruise offers excellent opportunities for close-up sightings of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and an abundance of birdlife including African fish eagles, pied kingfishers, and yellow-billed storks. Return to Tembo Safari Lodge in the early evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4

Morning Game Drive & Transfer To Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Begin the day with an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, offering chances to spot lions, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and perhaps even a leopard. After breakfast, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest through scenic landscapes and terraced hills. Upon arrival, check in to Rushaga Gorilla Lodge, a mid range lodge in Rushaga, outside Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. If time permits, take part in a cultural visit to a local Batwa community. Engage in traditional storytelling, and learn about their deep-rooted connection to the forest. Return to the Rushaga Gorilla Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a briefing before heading into the lush Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for your gorilla trekking experience. Accompanied by rangers, you’ll track and spend an awe-inspiring hour with a mountain gorilla family. Later, transfer to the breathtaking Lake Bunyonyi, often called the “Switzerland of Africa.” With 29 islands, the lake is a haven for birdlife, including grey crowned cranes, herons, and weavers. In the evening, enjoy a tranquil boat cruise to explore the islands, including the historic Punishment Island, once used for cultural exile. Overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Eco Resort on Kyahugye Island, home to free-roaming zebras and Uganda kobs.

Day 6

Transfer Back to Entebbe

After a relaxed breakfast at Lake Bunyonyi, begin your journey back to Entebbe, enjoying scenic views of southwestern Uganda’s rolling hills and countryside. Along the way, stop at Kayabwe for a memorable photo opportunity at the Equator crossing, where you can stand with one foot in the northern hemisphere and the other in the southern. You may also browse local craft shops and enjoy a brief demonstration of the Coriolis effect. Continue the drive with a lunch stop en route. Depending on your flight time, you may have a chance for last-minute shopping or sightseeing in Entebbe before being dropped off at the airport for your onward flight.
